Survey, process & planning

Our free site survey is a comprehensive preliminary study to plan your project correctly. Within this scope, we first take on-site measurements; we evaluate the façade geometry, the capacity of the load-bearing structure (wall, column, floor) and the water-drainage routes. We analyse the orientation, view and prevailing wind of your space and how you want to use it (seating, dining, resting). Then we recommend the system most suitable for your area's climate conditions and need (bioclimatic pergola, glass systems, zip screen, awning or a combination of these).

During the survey we provide clear upfront information considering technical details such as wind load, snow load and water insulation, and we guide you on fabric, glass and colour options. The survey is completely free and not binding. For clear pricing, after the survey an itemised written quotation based on the dimensions and system details is prepared. This approach lets you make the right investment by preventing surprises such as wrong measurements or an incompatible system choice.

A classic awning and a pergola are two solutions that serve different needs. A classic awning is a shade-focused system based on extending and retracting a fabric; it is light, economical and can be retracted when wanted. But a classic awning mostly only cuts the sun; it may need retracting in heavy rain and offers no side enclosure.

A pergola is a more integrated and permanent outdoor solution. With its load-bearing aluminium structure, a defined roof line and optional motorisation, a pergola turns the outdoor space into a four-season-usable living area. A bioclimatic pergola in particular controls sun, shade, rain and ventilation in one system with its adjustable louvres; when the louvres close they form a watertight roof. When the sides are closed with zip screens or glass systems, the area under the pergola turns into a fully sheltered volume. In short: for an economical, infrequently used shade an awning; for four-season use, rain protection and an integrated outdoor room, a pergola is preferred.

Production and installation time varies by product type, dimensions, custom colour and accessory requests, and season. A standard awning or canopy can usually be completed within a few days, while projects with a bioclimatic pergola, glass systems or a combination can take a few weeks including production and installation. Custom-size, special-form (radius, etc.) or special-RAL-colour requests can extend the production time somewhat.

In busy seasons (spring-summer), as demand increases the timing can change; so we recommend planning early. After the survey and measurement, we share a clear production and installation window specific to your project in writing in the proposal and agreement; so you know from the start when the process will be completed. Installation is done by our experienced team with precise measurement and correct anchoring; when finished, water tightness and system operation are tested and it is handed over turnkey.

Products & application systems

We offer manufacturer and workmanship warranty by product line; the warranty terms are clearly stated in the proposal and agreement. In general, a certain period of warranty is given on the aluminium construction and the mechanism (motor, louvre system); manufacturer assurance applies to components such as fabric and glass. The warranty covers material and workmanship defects.

Our systems are designed to be low maintenance. For a bioclimatic pergola, cleaning the louvres and gutter channels once or twice a year and checking the motor and gaskets; for glass systems, cleaning the rails and wiping the glass; for an awning, not retracting the fabric while wet and regular cleaning is enough. We share periodic maintenance recommendations at delivery and guide you for longevity. We also provide maintenance, adjustment, fabric renewal and part replacement support through after-sales service when needed; so your system works with first-day performance for years.

Yes, selected GlobalTente products are also available to customers at Bauhaus stores. Our cooperation with Bauhaus lets certain standard products and accessories be supplied ready-made.

However, bioclimatic pergolas, glass systems, custom-size and custom-design projects are carried out directly by GlobalTente, turnkey, as they require an on-site survey, measurement and engineering. In such projects, since the dimensions specific to your area, the right system choice and professional installation are critical, we recommend starting with our free survey service. If you share with us whether you are looking for a standard product or a project-specific solution, we will guide you to the most appropriate purchasing channel.

A bioclimatic pergola is an outdoor system with a roof of motorised rotating or adjustable aluminium louvres. The term "bioclimatic" comes from the system actively adapting to climate conditions: the louvres are set steplessly to the desired angle to manage sun, shade and ventilation together.

When the louvres open, sun and air are let in and hot air rises for natural ventilation; when closed, the EPDM gaskets at the louvre edges interlock to form a watertight roof and rain is drained through the concealed gutter system. So a bioclimatic pergola combines sun control, rain protection and ventilation in one system; it makes the outdoor space much more than a fixed sunshade, a four-season-usable living area. When the sides are closed with zip screens or glass systems and a heater is added, it is used comfortably in winter too. It is the most preferred modern outdoor solution in homes, restaurants, hotels and public spaces.

Yes, zip screens and guillotine glass are planned together in most projects and complement each other. Under a pergola or fixed structure, these two systems take on different functions to make the outdoor space fully equipped.

Guillotine glass is a façade-enclosure system where the panels open by sliding vertically upward, requiring no side stacking area; it cuts wind, rain and cold while preserving the view. A zip screen is a system where the fabric locks into the rail at the edge and does not flap in wind; it provides sun, insect and privacy control. In many projects, one façade is solved with guillotine glass (for view and full enclosure) and another façade or the upper section with a zip screen (for sun and insect control). When combined with a bioclimatic pergola above, the outdoor space turns into a four-season-usable, view and sheltered outdoor room. Which system is used on which façade is planned together during the survey according to the area's orientation, view and intended use.

Pricing, coverage & purchase

Yes, we can carry out surveys and installations across Turkey on a project basis. For residential, commercial and public projects, planning is done by evaluating distance and logistics conditions at the offer stage. We have previously completed projects in many locations outside Istanbul, such as Izmir (Bergama), Eskişehir and Şile; we have also carried out overseas export projects such as to France.

In projects outside Istanbul, production is done in our own manufacturing infrastructure and our installation team goes to the site; logistics and installation conditions are stated transparently in the offer according to the distance. In overseas export projects, the system can be prepared complete, without installation, compliant with European standards and handed over to customs. If you share your project's location with us, we will offer you the most suitable survey and application plan.

The price quote is created by evaluating all the details of your project. The main factors determining the quote are: the total dimensions and area; the system type (bioclimatic pergola, glass system, zip screen, awning, etc.); the motor and automation (sensor, smart-home integration); the fabric or glass type (single/double glazing, mesh/blackout, special colour); and the installation difficulty (height, anchoring, logistics).

Instead of a standard flat price, we offer an itemised, transparent quote based on the dimensions and system choice specific to your area. This approach lets you clearly see what you are paying for and contains no hidden costs. The quote is prepared in writing after the free survey and measurement; if accepted, it is turned into an agreement. The right price is an investment decision that considers not just the initial cost but also the durability and long life of the system; so during the survey we determine together the solution most suitable for your need and budget.

A rolling roof (retractable fabric roof) is a system made of a technical fabric roof that opens and retracts by motor. With its ability to span wide openings column-free, its lightweight structure and being almost invisible when fully open, it is ideal for terraces, restaurant gardens, cafés and wide event areas.

A rolling roof cuts sun and rain when the fabric opens; when retracted it leaves the sky fully open. With waterproof PVC fabric and the right slope, rain control is also provided. For spaces wanting a wide, column-free shade area and preferring a soft and light aesthetic, a rolling roof stands out. For a priority on flexible shade control and natural ventilation, a bioclimatic (louvered) pergola is considered, because the louvres adjust the amount of shade more precisely in intermediate positions. Which system is suitable is determined during the survey according to the space's size, climate and usage expectation. Both systems can be used together for different areas in large projects.

Warranty, care & support

Yes, thanks to our own manufacturing infrastructure, almost all projects are produced to custom size and colour. Our systems are not forced into a standard mould; they are produced to your area's exact dimensions, geometry and architectural language. This is a great advantage especially for non-standard façades, wide spans or curved (radius) structures.

For colour, the profiles can be produced in almost any tone from the RAL catalogue with electrostatic powder coating; anthracite, matte black and white are the most preferred, but a special colour matching your building's façade can also be chosen. A wood-pattern finish is also possible. For fabric and glass, we offer a wide range of colour, pattern and privacy options (plain, striped, mesh, blackout, smoked, frosted, etc.). Custom-size and custom-colour requests can affect the production time somewhat; we clarify these details together during the survey and state them in the quote.

Yes, technical support after installation and after-sales service are an important part of our service. After your systems are delivered, we guide you on use and maintenance; we provide technical support when needed. In motorised systems, our service team is on hand for matters such as sensor calibration, motor adjustment, fabric tension or mechanism check.

In heavily used commercial systems (hotel, restaurant, café), fast service is critical for the uninterrupted operation of the business; so we are with you in the after-sales process. We offer renewal of worn fabric, part replacement, periodic maintenance and fault-clearing services. You can contact us when you encounter a problem or want to plan maintenance; we provide the support needed for your system to work trouble-free and with first-day performance for years. The process we run from one hand, from production to installation and service, offers single-point-of-contact assurance at every stage.
